St.Norbert's Church

Title

St.Norbert's Church

Subject

Important Structures in Roxbury, Wisconsin

Description

St. Norbert’s Church was the first church in the area of Dane County. It has always been the focal point of the community and Father Inama Adalbert O.Praem was responsible for its creation. A separate school building was built later on in the church's history, but before that, school classes were taught by Father Inama himself right in the church. A convent was built in 1879 to house the nuns/teachers. The school is no longer in operation, however, church services are religiously held every Sunday morning to this day.
